Canada’s Premier Black AI Gathering
The Black Canadian AI Society (BCAIS) is proud to announce its inaugural flagship event, the Joint Black AI Summit (JBAIS), to be held in February 2027 in Toronto, in recognition of Black History Month.
JBAIS will serve as a landmark convening of Black leaders, researchers, innovators, policymakers, entrepreneurs, and community stakeholders in artificial intelligence. As the first flagship summit of BCAIS, the event marks a major step toward building a nationally rooted and globally connected ecosystem for Black excellence in AI.
The summit will bring together participants from across academia, industry, government, and civil society to explore cutting-edge advancements in artificial intelligence, while addressing critical issues of equity, representation, and ethical innovation.
“Hosting JBAIS during Black History Month is both symbolic and strategic,” said the CEO and Inaugural Chair of the Board of BCAIS. “It is a moment to honor legacy, celebrate excellence, and actively build the future of artificial intelligence with equity at its core.”
